My colour choice navy and grey as my neutrals with lime/chartreuse and yellow as accents. Although I haven't included any in this collection I would also put teal with it. You will see just a hint of that colour in one of my necklaces and it really lifts the outfit.
Ttravelling,........... comfort and layers were my main priorities here. Our weather is so changeable at the moment, and cars can get very warm with just a hint of sunshine!
A navy spot fleece with a short navy striped tee underneath. blue straight jeans, green shoes and green spot scarf with a lime handbag...
For sightseeing (and perhaps a wee bit of shopping!) ....
Navy and grey this time teamed with the yellow, a combination of all shades of grey and then the greens and yellow together.
Of course the combinations are endless. The grey trousers with the grey striped top would look just as good with the yellow jacket and scarf, grey shoes and lime handbag. Or again Green cotton trousers with the navy striped top, navy parka, green scarf and shoes. I actually left out of the photographs a green cross body bag which is the same colour as the shoes in the last picture which I will also take. ( I was using it at the time!)
We hope to do a fair bit of walking so of course we bring our waterproof jackets and walking boots (not shown in the following picture)...
Cotton trousers (no jeans for walking) lightweight cotton tees, walking boots or well supporting trainers depending on the terrain and the distance we decide to walk.....
And finally something for those casual meals in the local pub...comfort but with style...
A couple of jersey dresses, a smarter coat and a grey cardigan which would again team with any of the other options. I'm also throwing in thick grey tights, 1. Because it still gets bloomin' cold in the evenings and 2. because unlike you brave or perhaps mad young things my old legs don't look good with goose pimples (even though they are nicely bronzed with Doves best body glow lotion).
Altogether 20 items which with a few accessories will take me from day to night, walking to sightseeing and the odd meal out......and I can get up each morning and not have to spend precious leisure time trying to decide what to wear...
So do you plan your wardrobe or are you a 'throw anything that fits you in the case' kinda girl....
Off to sort out DHs capsule now ( like not!) His is definitely the 'Oh that'll do' kind of packing though I do try to get him to be a bit coordinated!
Have a good rest of the week and weekend..

I think you have a nice wardrobe picked out for your trip, Jenny. Very well thought out and you are prepared for anything! Very wise. Do you leave soon?
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Yes, not long to wait at all now, so at least I wont be sneaking things out of the 'ready' pile! Looking forward to a nice break, things have been a bit hectic here over the last few months.
DeletePacking sends me into a total spin. You make it look so easy and sooo gorgeous. Fab! Enjoy your GBH. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I will really try. x
DeleteGee wiz.... you dress nice. All I wear is jeans and t shirts lol... hmmm I wonder at what point I'll start dressing like a grown up? lol
ReplyDeletebig hugs,
Cheryl
But it is mainly that! Only a couple of dresses to feel like I'm making an effort. Thank you anyway. (And who said anything about being a grown-up)
ReplyDeleteYou're wonderfully organised. And you've got some lovely clothes in gorgeous colours. I try to do what you've done, but I often get somewhere and think 'ooh, I wish I had my.....black jacket..' It's usually the weather that fazes me, but you seem to have planned for that! Have a good break! x
ReplyDeleteI think one of the best reasons for doing this is that you find things you had forgotten you had, and therefore wear more of what you have. I have crossed a few 'I think I just need one of those' off my list by doing it 'cos often find I already have one!
DeleteI'm so glad you shared this with us again, as you know I really loved your last post about packing.
ReplyDeleteYou have some gorgeous clothes.
Hope you have a wonderful time away.

Thanks Lisa, sometimes you forget what you already own! Getting excited now, ready for a break. X
DeleteI wish I was so organised, these outfits all look peachy, I particularly like the patterned jersey dress. Enjoy your trip ... Sarah x
ReplyDeleteThat was a real gem from boden at a much more realistic price and I think it will certainly earn its keep!

ReplyDeleteBut it's taken me long enough to get here lol!

Great post, I love seeing what people are packing for their hols. I think I actually enjoy the packing and planning what to wear when I go on holiday more than the holiday itself... Well maybe not but putting together my outfits etc is still such fun. I don't go away till October and I'm already planning in my head what to wear, take and I need to buy!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,

Really enjoyed this post, I love reading 'packing' posts. Love your colour combos. I'm a very organised packer, too (have to be even more so these days with airline weight restrictions), and really enjoy picking out the outfits I'm going to wear while I'm away. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you are organized :) I throw my clothes in a bag and go - I leave myself only 30-45 min to pack right before we leave so I don't dilly dally. Hope you had a wonderful trip!
